Modifiers (মডিফায়ার - HSC গাইড)
HSC পরীক্ষা ও এডমিশনের জন্য Pre-modifiers এবং Post-modifiers চেনার সহজ নিয়ম, উদাহরণ এবং বোর্ড প্রশ্ন সমাধানের বাংলা গাইড।
Modifiers (মডিফায়ার - সহজ বাংলা গাইড)
Modifier হলো এমন একটি শব্দ বা শব্দগুচ্ছ (Word or Phrase) যা কোনো Noun, Verb, Adjective বা অন্য কোনো পদের পূর্বে বা পরে বসে সেটির অর্থকে বিশেষায়িত, সীমিত বা পরিমার্জিত করে।
Modifier প্রধানত ২ প্রকার:
- Pre-modifier: যে Modifier কোনো শব্দের পূর্বে বসে সেটিকে মডিফাই করে।
- Post-modifier: যে Modifier কোনো শব্দের পরে বসে সেটিকে মডিফাই করে।
১. Pre-modifiers (পূর্বে বসা মডিফায়ার)
HSC পরীক্ষায় ব্র্যাকেটে নির্দেশনা দেওয়া থাকে। নিচে প্রধান Pre-modifiers সংক্ষেপে ব্যাখ্যা করা হলো:
১. Adjective as Pre-modifier
Noun-এর পূর্বে Adjective বসে Noun-কে মডিফাই করে।
- She is a beautiful (use an adjective to pre-modify the noun) girl.
- Kazi Nazrul Islam is a famous poet.
২. Noun as Pre-modifier (Noun Adjective)
যখন দুটি Noun পাশাপাশি বসে এবং ১ম Noun-টি ২য় Noun-টিকে বিশেষায়িত করে।
- I bought a college (use a noun to pre-modify the noun) bag.
- He is a train passenger.
৩. Present Participle as Pre-modifier (Verb + ing)
- Don't get into a running (use a present participle) bus.
- A barking dog seldom bites.
৪. Past Participle as Pre-modifier (Verb-এর V3 রূপ)
- We should not drink polluted (use a past participle) water.
- He paid for the damaged goods.
৫. Quantifiers as Pre-modifier (সংখ্যা বা পরিমাণবাচক শব্দ)
one, two, three, many, much, few, little, several, all, some, lot of ইত্যাদি।
- I have many (use a quantifier) friends in Dhaka.
- He gave me some money.
৬. Possessives as Pre-modifier (মালিকানাসূচক শব্দ)
my, our, your, his, her, their, its, Rahim's ইত্যাদি।
- I love my (use a possessive) country.
- Our college is famous.
৭. Demonstratives as Pre-modifier (নির্দেশক শব্দ)
this, that, these, those
- This (use a demonstrative) boy is very intelligent.
- Those books belong to the library.
২. Post-modifiers (পরে বসা মডিফায়ার)
১. Appositive as Post-modifier (সমান্তরাল পরিচিতি)
কোনো Noun-এর ঠিক পরেই কমা দিয়ে বসে তার অতিরিক্ত পরিচয় প্রদান করে।
- Kazi Nazrul Islam, our national poet, (use an appositive) was born in Churulia.
- Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, is a crowded city.
২. Infinitive / Infinitive Phrase as Post-modifier (to + V1)
- He worked hard to prosper in life (use an infinitive phrase to post-modify the verb).
- We eat to live.
৩. Prepositional Phrase as Post-modifier
Preposition দিয়ে শুরু হওয়া শব্দগুচ্ছ।
- The book on the table (use a prepositional phrase) belongs to me.
- The boy in the blue shirt is my brother.
৪. Present Participle Phrase as Post-modifier
- The man standing at the door (use a present participle phrase) is a doctor.
- I saw a boy playing in the field.
5. Adverbial as Post-modifier
Verb-কে কখন, কোথায়, কীভাবে উত্তর দেওয়া শব্দাবলি।
- He walks slowly (use an adverb).
- They went to market.
